The Roc Solo is a unique product, a patented innovation that makes it the first belay device specifically designed and certified for lead rope solo climbing 

Designed by climbers for climbers, it meets all the regulatory requirements of the PPE Directive 2016/425 and has been CE certified by TÜV SÜD, a leading independent certification body based in Germany. 

The Roc Solo is designed for independent and experienced climbers; it is suitable for both occasional and intensive use and boasts an exceptionally long service life. It is manufactured in France to industrial standards, with the highest standards applied throughout the production process.

Maximum security

Works in all fall scenarios: lead climbing, top-roping, and inverted falls
Bi-directional centrifugal locking system
Reduced impact force thanks to energy absorbed by the drum (up to 1 kN absorbed)
Reinforced attachment loop allowing connection to a harness with two safety carabiners
MBS (Minimum Breaking Strength) > 15 kN


Reliability and durability

Multi-redundant locking system (4 redundant locking devices; only 1 is required to meet safety requirements)
Ultra-responsive locking mechanism: calibrated for rope release of less than 60 cm (brake activation + drum tightening) 
The rope is protected and not subjected to any damage (no teeth, no jamming, no cam).
Theoretical service life: unlimited. If there is any doubt regarding its condition, the Roc Solo can be returned to Roc Amadeus for servicing and re-certification.


Ergonomics and climbing comfort

Designed for optimal climbing fluidity with single rope diameters ranging from 8.5 to 9.7 mm.  
Attaches directly to the harness’s belay loop and requires no chest harness
Allows the rope to be clipped easily in all directions, including upwards
Limited rope back-feed thanks to the Roc Solo’s natural friction
